WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Fort Hays State fell to No. 4 ranked Central Missouri by a score of 2-0 in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Friday (Nov. 4). The Jennies scored once in each period to advance to the championship and take on second-seeded Emporia State on Sunday. The Tigers moved to 11-2-7 overall, and the Jennies improved to 17-1-2 overall.

The Jennies scored their first goal in the 17th minute when Julia Christiensen passed the ball to Caroline Cole who punched it past Isabel Robben. The Tigers had a few opportunities to tie the match but were unable to find the net in the second half. Central Missouri sealed the match late when Cole rolled the ball into the box for Greycen Erisman who scored in the 85th minute.

The Jennies edged the Tigers 8-7 in total shots and 3-1 in shots on goal. Robben and Sydney Beck each collected a save in the match.

Holding a strong case for NCAA Tournament selection as the region’s No. 4 ranked team, FHSU now awaits the tournament selection show on Monday (Nov. 7). Eight teams will compete in the Central Regional of the NCAA Tournament next week with host sites to be announced during the selection show.
