RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fort Hays State Men’s Soccer had 10 players named to the All-GAC/MIAA Men’s Soccer Team, announced on Thursday (Nov. 3). Ethan Doud earned Midfielder of the Year honors. The Tigers have three first-team, one second-team, and six honorable mention selections.
First-team honors went to Blake Arndt, Ethan Doud, and Haruya Iwasaki. Odhran Lawlor was the lone Tiger to earn second-team honors. Honorable mention picks went to Callum Frogson, Tadhg Walsh, Jackson Elgas, Inigo Jimenez, Chris Rios-Cruz, and Kieran Brown.
Arndt is now a three-time All-GAC/MIAA First Team selection at forward. He leads the Tigers in goals (6) and points (15) so far this season. He ranks fourth in the conference in goals and fifth in points entering the GAC/MIAA Tournament.
Doud was voted as the Midfielder of the Year in the conference by the GAC/MIAA coaches and lands on the first-team at his position. He is now a two-time all-conference selection after honorable mention honors last year. Doud has four points this season with one goal and two assists and has played 1,531 minutes this season, playing all 90 minutes in 11 contests.
Iwasaki is now a two-time all-conference selection, receiving first-team honors this year after a second-team selection last year. He has two goals this season to go with a team-high 1,556 minutes played. He has played in all 90 minutes of 16 contests and has helped the team to an 0.94 goals against average for the season.
Lawlor earned a second-team selection in his first season with the Tigers as a forward. He had one assist during the regular season.
Frogson received an honorable mention nod at midfielder in his first season at FHSU. He ranks second on the team in points (13) and goals scored (5). He has provided three assists this season as well. He is tied for the sixth-most points in the conference and seventh-most goals.
Walsh received an honorable mention selection as a midfielder in his first year at FHSU. He has three assists over 13 matches played.
Elgas received an honorable mention selection in his first season with the program. He ranks fourth on the team in points with seven, accumulating two goals and three assists.
Jimenez received an honorable mention pick in his first year with the Tigers after transferring from Lake Erie College. He leads the team in assists with seven, and ranks second in the conference.
Rios-Cruz receives the first all-conference selection of his career at FHSU. Now in his third season with the program, he logged 1,536 minutes on the field during the regular season playing all 90 minutes in 12 matches.
Brown received his third all-conference selection as a Tiger, an honorable mention selection this season. He was a first-team selection each of the last two seasons. He ranks second in the conference in goals against average (0.996), save percentage (.825), and shutouts (6).
