Men’s soccer draws in Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Fort Hays State Men’s Soccer played to a scoreless draw with Northeastern State in Tahlequah on Saturday (Oct. 22). Despite numerous scoring opportunities, neither team was able to find the net. FHSU moved to 8-4-5 overall, 6-2-3 in the GAC/MIAA, while NSU moves to 8-4-3 overall and 5-3-2 in the GAC/MIAA.

The RiverHawks had 19 shots in the match and put nine on goal. It was the second straight match the Tiger opposition had 19 shots and went scoreless. FHSU took five shots and placed two on target. Kieran Brown nabbed eight saves for the Tigers in the shutout effort, compared to two by Niklas Kirhoff.

Fort Hays State and Rogers State are now tied for the GAC/MIAA lead at 21 points each. The two will face each other in Hays on Thursday (Oct. 27), which will be the final regular season contest for FHSU. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at FHSU Soccer Stadium. Rogers State will still have another game remaining with Newman on Saturday.
