Men’s soccer ties Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The 16th-ranked Fort Hays State men’s soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Ouachita Baptist on Thursday (Oct. 13). Despite there being plenty of scoring opportunities, FHSU could not find the net going scoreless in its second-straight road match. FHSU moved to 7-3-4 overall and 5-1-2 in the GAC, while OBU moves to 1-10-3 overall and 1-6-1 in the conference.

FHSU took six shots in the final three minutes, including a header by Blake Arndt that glanced the crossbar in the final seconds of the match. Fort Hays State set a new season-high with 31 shots in the contest and placed ten on target. Ouachita Baptist managed five shots and put one on goal. Arndt led the way for the Tigers taking eight shots and placed three on target. Kieran Brown saved the lone shot on goal from OBU and Dillon Staal finished with 10 saves for OBU.

FHSU will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 15) as they take on Harding. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m.
