KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior forward Jordan Thompson was named to the 2021 MIAA Women’s Soccer All-Tournament Team. Thompson was one of 14 players named to the team. Fort Hays State was the No. 8 seed in the tournament and dropped a hard-fought match to No. 1 seed Central Missouri in the quarterfinals in overtime.

Thompson earns her way on the team after her magical two-goal blitz against Central Missouri in the final five minutes of regulation. She fired off a rocket shot from about 30 yards out with just over four minutes to go in the match to pull the Tigers within one goal, then put a perfect redirecting strike on a low pass from Cailey Perkins with just over a minute to go in the match to level the score at 2-2 and force overtime. Unfortunately, the Tigers fell short in overtime after their amazing late rally.

Second-seeded Emporia State went on to win the MIAA Tournament, defeating Central Missouri in the championship match.
