Arima, Brown earn weekly soccer honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Taisei Arima and Kieran Brown of Fort Hays State earned GAC/MIAA Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Nov. 2) for their efforts in a pair of shutout wins last week for Fort Hays State. Arima is the Offensive Player of the Week, while Brown is the Goalkeeper of the Week.

Arima led the Tigers with six points last week. He had a pair of assists and chipped in a goal during the 6-0 blowout at OBU, then scored the second goal in a 2-0 win at Harding. Arima has generated 13 of his 18 season points in four of the last five contests for FHSU. He now has seven goals and four assists for the season.

Brown manned the pipes in Fort Hays State’s pair of shutouts on the road. He faced 20 shots for the week and had to stop eight to keep a clean sheet. He lowered his season goals against average to 0.83 and now has 5 shutouts for the season.

Arima and Brown join Alvaro Sanchez (Defensive Player of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the GAC office.
