RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Antonio De La Torre of Fort Hays State Men’s Soccer received GAC/MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Oct. 5) for his efforts in a pair of matches last week in Hays. De La Torre generated a total of six points for the week with two goals and two assists.
De La Torre scored the first goal of the match in a 7-1 win over Ouachita Baptist, then provided assists on the fourth and fifth goals for the Tigers. He had the equalizer goal in the 72nd minute against Harding, but FHSU went on to fall 2-1 as Harding scored with less than two minutes remaining in the match.
For the season, De La Torre has three goals and three assists. He joins Kazuki Okazaki of Southern Nazarene (Defender of the Week) and Nick Foederer of Harding (Goalkeeper of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the GAC office.
