The 12th annual Tiger Auction and Dinner in August of 2021 was a tremendous success with $410,842 raised for FHSU Athletics, the most in the history of the event. The previous high for a Tiger Auction and Dinner was $377,402, which occurred in 2019.
A special thanks to Stephen Tebo for providing a $100,000 match for Item #40. This year’s Auction Item #40 is addressing facility improvements, which includes the playing surface in Gross Memorial Coliseum (total sand down, re-painting and varnish), replacement of the outfield and sideline fencing at Larks Park, equipment for maintenance and upkeep of the Sand Plum cross country course, and initial costs associated with the preparation of installing artificial turf at Tiger Stadium (softball field). Item #40 raised $173,750 plus the $100,000 match, which brings the total to $273,750 so far this year.
If you missed this year’s Tiger Auction and Dinner, but would like to donate to Item #40, please call the FHSU Athletic Department at (785) 628-4050 or visit https://foundation.fhsu.edu/tiger-auction-item-40/ online. Truly, every gift matters, so please consider making a tax-deductible donation, which can be paid in installments throughout the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
The live auction brought in over $89,000 with an average of $1,061 per item (highest average per item in the event’s history). Premium silent auction tables brought in over $29,000 with an average of $199 per item (highest average per silent item in event’s history).
FHSU Athletics thanks Eagle Radio for supporting the auction as they have done for many years now. FHSU Athletics also thanks everyone who donated an item, attended the auction, and donated to Item #40. This record-breaking year would not have been possible without all of you.
Mark your calendar for next year’s Tiger Auction and Dinner, set for Saturday, August 20, 2022.
