KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State sprinter Lyric Holman received MIAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors on Monday (Apr. 19) for her efforts at the ESU Midwest Classic last week. She joins Kirsten Leisinger from Missouri Southern, the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, as the weekly honorees from the conference office.
Holman won the 100-meter dash at the ESU Midwest Classic with a provisional time of 11.79 seconds. She was also the top NCAA Division II finisher in the 200-meter dash, placing third overall with a time of 24.52 seconds. She also helped the 4×100-meter relay team finish first at the meet with a time of 47.83 seconds.
Holman owns the seventh-fastest time in the 100 meters in NCAA Division II as she posted a time of 11.70 seconds a week earlier at the Wichita State Open.
