The Ellis County Health Department issued a press release Tuesday reporting the number of COVID-19 cases in the county. The number of cases remains at eight (the same since April 18) with four current cases and four cases now in recovery, according to the Kansas Department of Health & Environment. KDHE guidelines require patients to have improved symptoms for 72 hours with no medication in order to be considered recovered.
The state of Kansas currently has 3,491 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 124 reported deaths. Areas with the most cases include Wyandotte County with more than 580 cases and Johnson County with more than 440 cases.
Ellis County Health Department encourages residents to stay up to date on COVID-19 by visiting their social media pages. According to the press release, ECHD is the most current and accurate source of information regarding COVID-19 in the area. Residents may also visit the ECHD website for additional information. Ellis County will have its weekly Commissioners meeting on Monday.
