INDIANAPOLIS – Two student-athletes representing the Fort Hays State track and field team have been selected to compete in the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, announced Tuesday (March 3) by the Association. Ryan Stanley will compete in the pole vault at the national meet for the second time, while high jumper Summer Kragel will be making her debut at the National Championships.

This year’s indoor national meet will be held inside the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. March 13-14. Stanley will compete in the pole vault beginning at 3:20 p.m. on Friday before Kragel competes in the high jump on Saturday at 5:05 p.m.

After placing fourth in last year’s outdoor meet, Stanley will look to add another All-American trophy to the shelf. The sophomore enters the meet ninth on the Division II performance chart after clearing the 16-10.25 bar earlier this season at the Wendy’s/Pittsburg State Invitational (2/1/20). The mark is just one-half inch off the program’s indoor record.

Kragel earned her trip to the National Championships after a personal-best jump of 5-7.25 at the Gorilla Classic (2/15/20), two inches shy of the program’s indoor record. The junior ranks 15th on the national performance list to date
