Volleyball adds three transfers

Fort Hays State head volleyball coach Jessica Wood-Atkins has announced the addition of three transfers for the 2020 spring semester. All three student-athletes are setters and will be sophomores in the fall.

Melissa Blockey | Setter | 5-8
Chandler, Ariz. (Western Oregon University)

Melissa Blockey joins the Tigers after one season at Western Oregon University. She appeared in seven matches with the Wolves in 2019, playing in 11 sets and tallying 22 assists, five digs and one kill. The setter earned two varsity letters in both volleyball and sand volleyball at Perry High School in Gilbert, Ariz., helping the Pumas to a third-place finish at the State Tournament as a senior in 2018. Blockey was recognized during her high school career for her community service and was listed on the honor roll at Perry High.
Megan Casillas | Setter | 5-8
Erie, Colo. (Lynn University)

A native of Erie, Colo., Megan Casillas heads to Hays via Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. She appeared in two matches for the Fighting Knights last fall, tallying one dig on the year. The setter was a three-time letterwinner at Erie High School, earning all-conference honors and picking up a spot on the academic honor roll during her time as a Tiger.
Elysia Glowacz | Setter | 5-6
Monument, Colo. (Central Wyoming College)

Elysia Glowacz makes the transition to Fort Hays State after spending the fall semester at Central Wyoming College. The Monument, Colo. native played in 26 matches as a freshman with the Rustlers, appearing in 79 sets. Glowacz tallies 59 kills, 70 assists, 20 service aces, 99 digs and 11 block assists in 2019. She was a three-time letterwinner at Palmer Ridge High School, serving as team captain all three years and earning team MVP twice. She was once named AVCA Player of the Week in the state of Colorado.
