BY MICAH REINKE

FHSU Sorority Delta Zeta held an event titled “Hoops for Hearing” on Saturday, November 16th in Cunningham Hall on the FHSU campus. This 3-on-3 basketball tournament featured any team willing to participate, the cost was $20 per team and $2 per viewer, with the money benefiting the Starkey Hearing Foundation and going toward the aid of hearing in other countries.

“The goal for this event was to raise money and awareness of hearing issues in countries overseas, this could help individuals obtain new hearing aids, fix broken hearing aids, and get people’s hearing checked,” said Raenee Patterson, a Delta Zeta member.

The tournament featured 11 teams all having fun playing basketball, while donating toward a worthy cause simultaneously. The sorority’s focus was the philanthropy of hearing in other countries and to develop happier and healthier individuals.
