On Tuesday, October 22, University Activities Board hosted Music Trivia. This event was made possible by the help of the Chair of Music, Katie Youngers.
“I came across the idea to do music trivia, because I have always done trivia on the cruises I go to in the summer,” Youngers said. “I have always enjoyed it and thought it would be a fun event to bring to campus.”
Many categories were played throughout the night. The different categories ranged from the 60s to the 2k10s. There were also categories such as musicals, finish the lyrics, Disney, and TV theme songs.
The event was a greater success than UAB members had in mind,
“We had a turnout of about fifty people,” Youngers said. “We did not anticipate to have more than eight teams, but we ended up having thirteen teams all together.”
Different prizes were awarded to first through third place teams. First place received a prize that was comprised of different electronics. These electronics included a wireless speaker, long charging cord, TILES, headphones, and a wall charger. Second place received a “VSCO Girl” prize pack. It included stickers, decals, a coffee mug, and a portable battery. The third place team basket included FHSU gear, such as: stickers, sunscreen, keychains, and emblems. Every prize package also received candy and a variety of UAB promo items.
Overall, many students enjoyed the event.
“My favorite part was being able to have a great time, even when my team did not know the answers,” said FHSU student Aalijah Johnson. “Also, the amount of participation and enthusiasm all around made the event fun.”
“I really enjoyed the modern music time frame,” said FHSU student Jasey Egger. “That was the only time I actually knew what was going on and contribute to my team members.”
UAB has many more events to look forward to. On Tuesday, October 29 there will be hypnotist, Erik Kand. Later in the semester, they will have “Design Your Own Mug,” comedian Andrew Oroflo, Tigers Got Talent Winner Jared Alexander, and a winter craft. Intermingled between all those events there will also be a few Friday Film Works.
