Oktoberfest was hosted at Frontier Park in Hays on Friday and Saturday of FHSU’s Homecoming Weekend. Oktoberfest is an annual celebration of the German heritage of Ellis County.

Several student organizations set up booths to sell tee-shirts, food, koozies, and a lot of Tiger gear. They were fundraisers for trips and donations to organizations around Hays.

The Social Work Club set up a booth with different foods to raise money for a trip to do services and social work for families around different communities. Sigma Chi also had food for sale, and that money was raised for the Huntsman Cancer Research. The Econ Club was selling signs and Tiger flasks for their yearly trip to Philadelphia.

The Criminal Justice Club raised money for the Hays Arc Park. The Accounting Club sold tee-shirts for their annual trip to different places around the country. The Interior Design Student Association sold koozies for their yearly trips as well. The IDSA sold out early Friday afternoon because of all the support they received.

Multiple other student organizations were there including, Sigma Alpha Iota, Circle K International, The Psychology Club, FHSU Athletic Training, Chinese Students and Scholars, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology Clubs, Student Veterans Association, and the Cyber Security Club.

All of the student organizations were very successful and raised a lot of money for their trips and different organizations. Oktoberfest was a great opportunity for all of the organizations and for the Community of Hays to experience their heritage.
