This Saturday night Emily Prine will be representing the Order of Omega on the football field as a finalist for Homing Queen. She is humbled and honored to not only to be a finalist, but to also have the chance to shed some light on her organization.
According to Prine, Order of Omega is an honor society where you are selected upon your academic accomplishments, leadership skills, and services without the aide, of the university and community organizations.
She has been a part of the organization for two years now. Through her hard work and dedication, she was voted as President. With the start of homecoming week Emily is looking forward to Thursday’s bonfire, which is her favorite part about homecoming.
“So many students, athletes, and alumni come to the bonfire, and the atmosphere is incredible with band playing and the fans cheering,” she said.
Emily is so glad that she picked Fort Hays State to continue her education. One of the reasons why she picked Fort Hays was how it reminded her of home.
“How much like home it feels. I have felt at home since day one, because of how welcoming and warm-hearted everyone is here,” Prine said. “I have been here four years and I still feel this way.”
Wishing the best of luck to Emily as the week progresses in the homecoming candidacy. Voting for the title of King and Queen will take place from 9:00 am October 9th to noon October 11th on TigerLink or in Memorial Union from 11 am to 1 PM on October 9th and 10th.
