As FHSU homecoming quickly approaches, the candidates for King and Queen are campaigning across campus. TMN had a chance to catch up with Candidate Quinn Munk.
Quinn Munk, an organizational leadership major from Salina, Kansas was nominated by her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma as a candidate for Homecoming queen.
“It truly is an honor, I am so blessed to represent my sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma and Fort Hays,” Munk said. “I love Fort Hays so dearly and I want to show that and give back to the university.”
Munk chose to attend FHSU, following in her Mother’s footsteps.
“In the 80’s my mom went to Fort Hays and always told me and my sister her stories. When it came time for me to decide I went on one visit [to Fort Hays] and didn’t need to visit anywhere else,” she said.
During her time at Fort Hays she has been involved in Sigma Sigma Sigma, Tiger Team, Christian Challenge, Fraternity and Sorority ambassadors and National Society of Leadership and Success, among other organizations.
Munk’s favorite thing about Fort Hays is the community she has built here and how welcoming the people of university and campus are.
“I feel like I have grown in networking around campus because I have made so many relationships with fellow students,” Munk said.Voting for the title of King and Queen will take place from 9:00 AM October 9th to noon October 11th on TigerLink or in Memorial Union from 11am to 1 PM on October 9th and 10th.
