Fort Hays State University’s chapter of Circle K International hosted an event in support of Options as part of Fall Family Day on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Circle K welcomed families of FHSU to join them in coloring book and blanket making, which they would give to Options.
Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services is a non-profit that works to empower victims and survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault through more than a dozen services.
“We thought it would be great to donate things [coloring books and blankets] so they [Options] could feel love from Circle K,” said vice president Jennifer Gonzalez. “We got the opportunity to make it a family day event, which has never been done before, so we’re excited to see families and the community come together.”
Circle K ended up with 40 blankets and six coloring books to donate to Options.
Options’ services include, but are not limited to prevention programs for pre-teens, teens and college students, community awareness events, and educational presentations.
Walk-in services provided by Options are completely free and are available to everyone including adults, men, women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Circle K International is an international collegiate service organization promoting service, leadership, and fellowship.
