STORY BY BAILEY BRAWNER
On August 31, 2019 the volleyball season for the Central Kansas League was finally in action. Nickerson was talked about being the best in the league this year, however, a few of their main starters were out due to injury. With that being said they still pulled off the win and won the tournament.
The Haven Wildcats were looked down upon this year after only winning seven games last year but clearly last year is the past. With new assistant coach Barter in the mix, Haven Wildcat Volleyball is finally looking up after several years of struggles.
With one of their main athletes, Faith Paramore out due to injury and a freshman having to step up the Wildcats still pulled off some wins and walked away third.
BrieAnn Brawner is one of the new faces to the team and is one of the youngest – she is a freshman. She joined the court for the first time with her sister Brooke Brawner who is junior.
Another new face to the team is Cassie Smith. She stepped up and was able to help fill the front row hole since Paramore is out.
The Wildcats look to have a very bright season in front of them.
