CIRCLE K INTERNATIONAL HOSTS LAWN GAMES

STORY BY KERISA BROWN

On Wednesday, August 28, Circle K International hosted a multitude of lawn games on the Quad as well as provided snacks for students who participated in the fun. The variety of games included things such as volleyball, cornhole, tug of war, frisbee, hoola hoops, and even a game of Twister.

Circle K International is a student led organization on campus that hosts a variety of events on campus ranging from s’mores nights, to guest speakers, to blanket making. They focus on community service and help out with a variety of non-profit organizations in the Hays community.

“We are based on three pillars: service, leadership, and fellowship. We do a lot of service both on campus and off campus,” said Rylee Bretton, the club’s webmaster. “We also do a lot of fellowship activities to get our club to be more engaged with one another and to create those personal relationships.”

On Saturday, August 31, at 2:00 pm in the Memorial Union Trails Room, Circle K will be making Blessing Bags that are to be donated to First Call for Help. The Blessing Bags will include goodie items and a personal letter of encouragement that will be delivered to someone in need.

“We give our members opportunities to build on their leadership skills for later on in their college career,” said Circle K president, Jaqueline Rodriguez-Nuñez.

Circle K has an informational meeting on Saturday, September 4, at 5:30 pm in the Memorial Union Trails Room. They also have regular weekly meetings there every Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
