Time to strike up the Hays City Band for the summer 2019 season

Tonight’s performance by the Hays City Band will be the first of three in the summer season.

The music begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Hays Downtown Pavilion in Union Pacific Park at 10th and Main.

A second concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in Ellis at Washington Grade School, 100 E. 13th. The band will return to Hays for its final performance of the summer at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the pavilion.

Dr. Peter Lillpopp, assistant professor of music at Fort Hays State University and director of the Hays City Band, said the band is open to all age ranges and abilities from middle school students on up through adults.
