SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Fort Hays State women’s golf team completed the Central Region Spring Preview (April 8-9) with a 13th-place finish at the par-72, 5,909-yard Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo. hosted by Arkansas Tech. The Tigers shot rounds of 333 and 316 to finish 73-over par (649) for the tournament.
Senior Hannah Perkins led the Tigers after carding rounds of 81 and 78 to finish in a tie for 29th (159).
Taylor DeBoer completed the week with rounds of 84 and 77 to finish in a tie for 38th individually. Katie Brungardt finished two spot behind (T40th) after shooting rounds of 85 and 77. Kira Mestl tied for 62nd individually with rounds of 83 and 84. Kylie McCarthy carded rounds of 98 and 86.
Dallas Baptist took home the team title with rounds of 296 and 293 for a 13-over par score (589) as a team, winning the tournament by 20 strokes. Northeastern State (609) finished second for the week, while Central Oklahoma finished third (619).
The Tigers are back in action in two weeks when they make their way to Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kan. for the MIAA Championships (April 22-24).
