FHSU class visiting Via Christi Village

Fort Hays State University’s IDS 360, Social Justice: Action and Policy, will be visiting a local retirement home and spending time with its residents.

The general education course is composed of approximately 25 students and is taught by Assistant Professor April Terry in the Department of Criminal Justice.

The students will be working with residents at Via Christi Village. IDS 360 is a class that focuses on social justice issues in the United States. One of the many topics covered in the class is ageism and how people are treated/viewed based on their age.

The class will be helping residents write cards, which will be provided by Hallmark. Terry will provide stamps if residents would like to mail the cards to loved ones. As an alternative, the class will help the residents with an arts and crafts project. IDS 360 will visit Via Christi Village on April 9 and 25.
