By UNIVERSITY RELATIONS

Fort Hays State University’s Panhellenic Council, governing body for sororities on campus, hosted a “Sister Spa Day” recently to raise money for the Panhellic philanthropy, Circle of Sisterhood.

Young girls from the Hays community could pay $5 to get their hair and nails done, as well as read books about empowering women or do coloring and writing activities with women from the council.

Activities included “Mirror Mirror”, in which girls wrote themselves compliments on a paper mirror and took it home.

“We had girls from each chapter sign up to work the different stations. it was truly a morning for girls of all ages to come together and empower each other in their outer beauty as well as their inner beauty. We sorority women are passionate about making women feel as strong and lovely as we do every day,” said Cassidy Locke, Wichita senior majoring in english and Panhellenic philanthropy chair.

Circle of Sisterhood raises money to remove educational barriers for women in impoverished countries.

The Panhellenic Council raised $205 for the Circle of Sisterhood.
