Werth led the Tigers with 19 points, now just nine points shy of the 1,000-point mark for his career. He looks to become the 21st player in program history to reach that milestone.

Pittsburg State enters the game in a tie with Lincoln for fifth in the MIAA standings. Lincoln has the tiebreak for the No. 5 seed in the MIAA Tournament should the teams remain tied at the end of Saturday. The Gorillas have won their last two games, winning by four at Emporia State and then eight most recently on Thursday night at Nebraska-Kearney.

Fort Hays State won the first meeting of the season with Pittsburg State in Pittsburg by a slim margin of 77-75. Aaron Nicholson hit the game-winning layup to break a 75-75 tie with 4.8 seconds to go in the game. Werth led the Tigers in that game with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds.
