LINCOLN, Neb. – The Fort Hays State women’s track and field team took to Lincoln, Neb for its final preparations before the MIAA Conference Championships. On the day, Rohey Singhateh led the Tigers as she earned another provisional mark. Another highlight also came at the feet of the 4×400 meter relay team who earned a runner-up finish.
Singhateh captured a second place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 38 feet, 4 inches. This mark was strong enough to give Singhateh another provisional on the season. Mariah Hammersmith clocked a sixth place finish in the same event with her own jump of 34 feet, 4 inches. Another highlight on the day went to the 4×400 relay team made up of Peri Lange, Lyric Holman, Lindsay Shupe and
Mattie Rossi who placed second with a time of 3:56.90. Another FHSU relay team placed seventh with their own mark of 4:16.39.
Shupe managed an individual sixth place finish in the 200-meters with a time of 25.48, and Holman achieved her accomplishment with an eighth place time in the 400-meters at 59.76. Haley George placed tenth in the 600-meters with a time of 1:53.12, and Grace Buessing came in ninth place in the 800-meters at 2:19.69.
Summer Kragel claimed fifth place in the high jump with her jump of 5 feet, 3 inches alongside a ninth place finish from Haley Jones at 5 feet, 1 inches. In the shot put, Logan Batchman completed a ninth place finish with her throw of 39 feet, 5 inches.
The Tigers get a quick break before heading to the 2019 edition of the MIAA Indoor Conference Championships held Feb. 22-24 in Maryville, Mo.
