Tigers Host Mules for Senior Night Dual

The No. 12 ranked Fort Hays State wrestling team plays host to Central Missouri on Wednesday (Jan. 20) inside Gross Memorial Coliseum beginning at 7 p.m. The Tigers enter 1-8 in duals and 0-2 in conference action, while the Mules sit at 0-4 overall and 0-3 in MIAA duals.

FHSU’s probable lineup consists of two seniors, two juniors, three sophomores, two redshirt-freshmen, and three true freshmen. The Tigers enter with three ranked wrestlers; No. 2 Brandon Ball (141 pounds), No. 4 Efe Osaghae (157 pounds) and No. 9 Marty Verhaeghe (174 pounds).

125 – Freshman Broderick Green leads the squad in pins (six).
133 – The Tigers will have options for this weight class. Either freshman Payton Sadowski or junior Wyatt Alvis will take the mat for FHSU.
141 – No. 2 ranked Brandon Ball enters the dual 17-0 on the season.
149 – Ryne Cokeley is currently on a three-match winning streak and is coming off a 7-6 decision over JD Chenoweth (Western Colorado) last week.
157 – No. 4 ranked Efe Osaghae enters the dual 21-3 on the season. Osaghae paces the team in technical falls (six).
165 – Conrad Vajnar will get his second-consecutive start for the Tigers in duals and is looking to rebound after suffering an 18-6 major decision at the hands of Hunter Mullin (Western Colorado).
174 – Fort Hays State will have two options at 174 pounds; No. 9 ranked Marty Verhaeghe or freshman Nathan Dotson. Verhaeghe sits at 17-9 on the season, while Dotson is 2-6 in limited action.
184 – Senior Micquille Robinson leads the way in wins (28) and major decisions (nine).
197 – Freshman Ryan Tiers is set to take the mat in the 197-pound bout. Tiers will make his season debut.
285 – A.J. Cooper takes the reins in the 285-pound class for the Tigers. Cooper enters at 16-10 on the season. Of his 16 victories, Cooper has netted five pins and four major decisions on the year.
