Fort Hays State Men’s Basketball returns to its home floor on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 12) when it hosts Central Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 4 pm at Gross Memorial Coliseum. FHSU looks to remain unbeaten at home this year going into Saturday at 10-4 overall, 4-1 in the MIAA, while UCO enters at 8-6 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA.

The Tigers are coming off a nail-biting 69-65 win over Northeastern State on Thursday night at Gross Memorial Coliseum. FHSU went on an 8-1 run in the final minute, all points coming from Marcus Cooper, and turned a three-point deficit into a four-point win. FHSU is now 9-0 at home this year.
The Tigers remained in a tie for third place in the MIAA standings with Pittsburg State following the win Thursday. The only remaining unbeaten teams are Northwest Missouri State and Washburn. Central Oklahoma is coming off its first conference victory of the season Thursday night at Nebraska-Kearney.
Fort Hays State scored 57 points in both meetings with Central Oklahoma last year, one resulting in a win and one in a loss. The Tigers edged the Bronchos in Hays 57-55 after falling a week earlier by a score of 81-57 in Edmond. Trey O’Neil hit a 3-pointer with just under 30 seconds remaining in the game last year in Hays to lift the Tigers to a regular season split with the Bronchos.
Brady Werth leads FHSU in scoring at 15.3 points per game. He reached double figures in the last five games. Cooper averages 14 points per game and went over the 20-point mark in a game for the third time this year on Thursday night with a team-high 22. Aaron Nicholson also averages double figures at 10.3 points per game. Devin Davis is the top scorer off the bench for FHSU at 8.9 points per game, while Kyler Kinnamon averages a team-best 4.9 assists per game.
