KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The No. 14 ranked Fort Hays State wrestling team was picked fourth in the 2018-19 MIAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released Thursday (Jan. 10).
Nebraska-Kearney tops the poll as the favorite to win the dual title for the seventh-consecutive season. The No. 1 ranked Lopers received all but two of the first place votes, with Lindenwood and Central Oklahoma receiving one first-place vote each. The Lions were slotted second with 21 points and the Bronchos at third with 19 points. Newman was tabbed fifth and rounding out the poll was Central Missouri.
The Tigers host the Lions in their first home MIAA dual of the season on Friday (Jan. 11) inside Gross Memorial Coliseum, beginning at 7 p.m.
