KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State women’s soccer senior Vianei Sanchez has been awarded another post-season honor for the 2018 year. Sanchez was named to the United Soccer Coaches Women’s Scholar All-West Region Team, announced Monday (Dec. 10). She captured First-Team honors for her efforts on and off the field.
Sanchez, a senior from McKinney, Texas, was selected for the First Team alongside her 3.82 GPA in her accounting major at Fort Hays State. This is Sanchez’s first time receiving this honor.
To cap her Tiger career during the 2018 season, Sanchez started in all 20 matches for FHSU, totaling 1,645 minutes on the pitch. She added five goals for her squad, with two coming in the form of a game-winner. Sanchez tallied three assists to calculate 13 points on the year.
This honor is the third for Sanchez this season. Earlier, she captured an All-MIAA First Team award before later being named to the United Soccer Association All-Central Region Second Team.
