Men’s soccer stays at No. 14 in latest poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Fort Hays State men’s soccer team stayed put in the latest release of the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Poll. The Tigers remained No. 14 in the nation, released Tuesday (Oct. 9). The Tigers have stayed at No. 14 for three-consecutive weeks as they have stretched their winning streak to six matches, longest for the Tigers since winning seven in row last season (9/21/18 – 10/7/18).

The Tigers defeated Upper Iowa (Oct. 4) and Lindenwood (Oct. 7) at home this past weekend. FHSU shutout the Peacocks, 3-0, before clipping the Lions 2-1 in a rain-soaked afternoon on Sunday. Santiago Agudelo, Luis Torres and Rogelio Lopez scored in the victory over the Peacocks, while Agudelo and Lopez recorded another goal each helping the Tigers improve to 4-0 in conference play.

The Tigers continue their four-match home stand this weekend as they host Southwest Baptist on Friday (Oct. 12). The Tigers set numerous team and individual records against the Bearcats in their first meeting of the season two weeks ago, defeating SBU 9-0. FHSU will then take on No. 18 Northeastern State on Sunday (Oct. 14).
