Tiger fans will get to enjoy a fireworks show following the annual Homecoming football game vs. Central Oklahoma on Saturday night (Sept. 29). A large crowd is already expected for the game with a very limited amount of reserved seats remaining. Overflow general admission seating for the game will be available on bleacher seats behind both endzones. With an average of nearly 6,500 fans in attendance at the first two home games of the season, including a crowd of nearly 7,000 fans at the last home game, the crowd for Homecoming is anticipated to be very large at Lewis Field Stadium.
The fireworks show will take place 10 minutes after the completion of the football game, which pits No. 18 ranked Fort Hays State (3-1) against Central Oklahoma (2-2). Central Oklahoma is coming off an upset win over then No. 4 ranked Northwest Missouri State last week. Last year’s meeting between FHSU and UCO was a tight battle that the Tigers won 31-24 in Edmond.
The fireworks show is sponsored Horizon Appliance & Electronics, the Hays CVB, and J.Day Fireworks.
