Men’s golf ranked 8th in preseason poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Fort Hays State men’s golf team is ranked eighth in the 2018-19 MIAA Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches Poll, released Friday (Sept. 14) by the league office. The Tigers received 16 points in the balloting process, 12 back of seventh-place Missouri Southern.

Fort Hays State finished in a tie for seventh in the league last season after turning in a sixth-place performance at the conference championships to wrap up the season.

Central Missouri was picked to win the league after picking up 55 points, just one more than defending champion Lindenwood.

Fort Hays State returns 11 players from a year ago, including four student-athletes who competed for the Tigers.

The Tigers will get their first look at MIAA competition next week when they travel to Muskogee, Okla. for the first designated conference event of the season, the NSU Men’s Golf Classic.
