On Thursday, August 30th, the FHSU Tigers kicked off the first home football game of the season with the annual tailgating in the parking lot of Lewis Field stadium. Students and fans gathered outside the stadium to enjoy time with friends before the game as well as serve up some delicious foods such as hot dogs and hamburgers. Other activities took place like the traditional game of cornhole or “bags” and the Tiger bouncy house for kids by the stadium entrance.

Tailgating has become a tradition for the students here at Fort Hays. Students say it’s a good time to spend outside with classmates as well as a good opportunity for clubs and school organizations to gather together.

The next home football game tailgating event will be on Saturday, September 15th with kickoff at 7 p.m.
