FHSU Management Development Center to make October an Excel month

The Management Development Center at Fort Hays State University will offer a month of Excel as part of its fall training sessions.

The Microsoft Excel Workshop Series will kick off with “Introduction to Excel” on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

“Intermediate Excel” is on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Both of these workshops will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

“Intermediate Excel: Data Analysis” is from 8:30 a.m. to  noon on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

All three Excel Workshops will be held in the McCartney Hall computer lab, room 116.

In the introductory course, participants will learn the ABCs of using charts, graphs, fonts, borders, formulas, and functions. The intermediate Excel course will include macros, PivotCharts, linking and data exchange operations.

In the data analysis course, participants will practice VLOOKUP and What-If Analysis, including the Goal Seek and Scenario Manager features.

Dr. Cole Engel, assistant professor, will facilitate the introductory and intermediate workshops. Dr. Emily Breit, associate professor, will facilitate data analysis. Both teach in the Department of Economics, Accounting and Finance at FHSU.

Each person who completes a workshop will receive a completion certificate.

The cost for each Excel session is $119, or $100 for each course when taking more than one. Registration is available online through the Registration link in the sidebar on the center’s home page at www.fhsu.edu/mdc.
