Hays Arts Council’s Fall Gallery Walk features FHSU Music Department and Hays Symphony Orchestra

The Hays Arts Council’s Fall Gallery Walk features musicians from the Fort Hays State University Music Department and the Hays Symphony Orchestra at the Downtown Hays Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 24.

Events begin with a hands-on Instrument Petting Zoo for the kids from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The musicians will perform light classical music as well as jazz works for the entire evening, showcasing talent from faculty, students, and community members.
Hays Symphony Orchestra Pops performance begins at 7 p.m.
Musical highlights include “Stars and Stripes”; “America the Beautiful”; Suite No. 1 from “Carmen”; “I’ll Never Stop Loving You” and “Can Can.”
Hilary Shepard and Mel Sauer will perform a flute duo at 8.
At 8:30, cellists Ben Cline, Cathy Drabkin, Miranda Graves, Megan Rayl, Tanner Callis and Karl Rorstrom will perform “Cellissimo.”
The FHSU Tuba Quartet will close at 9 p.m.
