KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State student-athletes were well represented on the 2017-18 MIAA Academic Honor Roll, released Thursday (June 14) by the league office. A total of 241 Tigers were listed on the annual Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, 10 newcomers earned other honors after completing their second full term at FHSU.
Student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better through at least two terms at a member institution are listed on the Academic Honor Roll. Those with a perfect 4.00 GPA earn the Academic Excellence Award, while individuals who earn All-MIAA honors in their respective sport and carry a GPA of 3.50 or better receive the Scholar-Athlete Award.
Lucas Broxterman (track & field) and Grace Philop (softball) earned the Scholar-Athlete Award, with John Egan (baseball), Zach Meyer (football), Mark Faber (track & field), Tatum Bartels (volleyball), Katie Darnell (volleyball), Whitney Randall (basketball), Lauren Lane (track & field) and Conrad Vajnar (wrestling) all earned the Academic Excellence Award after wrapping up the year with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
