St. LOUIS – Fresh off a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the 1,500 meter run, Brett Meyer ran a sub four-minute mile on Thursday night (May 31) in at the Festival of Miles in St. Louis. Meyer ran a time of 3:59.77, finishing sixth in a field of 14 runners that included several professionals, but was only 1.23 seconds shy of the winning time of 3:58.54 ran by Tripp Hurt. Meyer ran his last lap around the track in 57.60 seconds and his slowest lap was the first at 1:01.61.
Meyer ran a 1,500-meter time of 3:46.43 last week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He was the national runner-up in the mile run for the indoor season earlier in the spring. His best indoor mile time this year in a collegiate meet was 4:06.20, ran in the prelims of the NCAA Championships.
