FHSU student takes first place at international competition

Zachar Dziadul, Macon, Ga., recently won first place in the Entrepreneurship Challenge at the Collegiate Distributive Education Clubs of America International Career Development Conference in Washington, D.C.

Dziadul, a Fort Hays State University senior majoring in marketing, received a $5,000 Don DeBolt Scholarship for his success.

The challenge required students to create a franchise-able business that focused on solving a problem. The event was sponsored by the Franchise Education and Research Foundation Inc. and Hilton Worldwide.

More than 1,500 college students attended the conference, where they engaged in professional development academies, competitive events and management institutions.
