SPRING HILL — The Fort Hays State men’s golf team finish sixth at the MIAA Championship (April 23-25), hosted at Sycamore Ridge, a 7,081-yard, par-72 course. It was the team’s best finish at the MIAA Championship since the 2011-2012 season.
Senior Skyler Tebo claimed a top-5 finish with a solo fifth-place spot for the week. Tebo carded identical even-par rounds of 72 in the first two rounds before shooting a 74 to round out the event 2-over par (218). Tebo carded eight birdies and one eagle for the week. Seve Sites posted rounds of 74, 71 and 75 on his way to a tie for 12th individually. Sites posted the first under-par round for a Tiger in the second round of his tournament. Sites finished the week 4-over par (220). Sites carded a team-high nine birdies in the Championship. Connor Schultz finished in a tie for 33rd after firing rounds of 80 and 76 before going low in round three with a 1-under par (71) score. Schultz posted six birdies for the week. Lane Pauls finished in a tie for 36th after posting scores of 78, 75 and 77 for the tournament. Pauls carded eight birdies throughout the week. Mac McNish recorded rounds of 75, 77 and 82. McNish posted six birdies for the week. Lindenwood took home the team title with an aggregate score of 2-over par (866). Central Missouri placed second after finishing with a total score of 879 and Nebraska-Kearney finished third with an 883. Fort Hays State posted team scores of 299, 294 and 297. |
