The American Music Awards is this Sunday, November 19, at 7 pm Central Time, on ABC. This year’s host is the star of the hit show “Black-ish”, Tracee Ellis Ross. This will be the first time an Emmy-nominated actress will host the awards. This is also a special night for Ross as well because her mom, Diana Ross, will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
There are many contenders for this year’s Artist of the Year; Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, the Chainsmokers, and Drake.
An interesting thing to note about this award show is that Bruno Mars is nominated for over eight different awards.

We also see that New Music Artist of the Year features artists Post Malone, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, James Arthur, and Rae Sremmurd.
The Favorite Hip/Rap Album and Favorite Hip/Rap Artist feature the similar nominees; Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Migos.
