Spooktacular 2017 Hosted By Sternberg Museum

BY HALEY LENAUER

On Halloween at 3 pm, the Sternberg Museum put on their annual Spooktacular event for the community of Hays. Spooktacular encourages local elementary children to come dressed up in costume for the opportunity to trick-or-treat at the local museum. It is a safe option for parents looking for fun Halloween alternatives, or as a unique, first stop for trick-or-treaters before they continue on with their Halloween trip through Hays.

Various stations within the museum were set up for the event as themed attractions for viewers to visit. After Spooktacular, attendees were encouraged to take a tour through the different exhibits of the Sternberg, and discover the various fossils on display. Among the assortment of trick-or-treat hand-outs, participants were given a complimentary toothbrush, courtesy of Lifetime Dental Care.

Kids could also receive an additional flashlight and candy combo from Eagle Communications. Alongside giving out treats, Eagle Communications also sponsored the occasion, as well as filmed it, and interviewed different families for Eagle Community Television, with plans to premiere the showing on Eagle Cable Channel 14.
