The resident hall known as Wiest Hall is nearly finished its course of demolition. Wiest’s initial construction took place in 1961 and finished the second stage in 1971. Approximately 472 could live within those walls, named after Dr. Charles F. Wiest. Dr. Wiest
Dr. Wiest was hired originally as an English teacher before receiving an appointment as Professor of Philosophy and Religion in 1927. After retiring in 1943, he died in a flash flood on May 22, 1951.
Wiest Hall has now been replaced by Victor E. Village, which was commonly called New Wiest at the start of its construction.
