Fort Hays State University’s annual back to school picnic will be held this coming Monday, August 21 to kick off the 2017-2018 school year at FHSU. Students, faculty and staff and their families, as well as members of the Hays community, are welcomed to The Quad to celebrate the first day of classes with socializing, learning about clubs and organizations, as well as great food.
The event begins at 4 p.m. with food being served at 5 p.m. Festivities will run until around 6:30 p.m. Faculty and staff will be provided a free ticket to the event at today’s Convocation, while other patrons can purchase meal tickets for $8.75. Student meal plans are also accepted.
The menu includes a barbequed beef or pork sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans, watermelon, dessert, and a drink. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the inside of Memorial Union.
