Tree Lighting Ceremony Starts Soon!

Reporting for TMN News, I’m Shannon Mahon.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at Fort Hays State University’s Sheridan Hall on Tuesday, November 29th at 6:00pm. The entire Hays community is invited to come enjoy in the festivities.
The holiday tree lighting ceremony is sponsored by the Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Office of International Student Services, the University Activities Board, Fort Hays State Athletics, and Wendy’s Restaurants.

There will also be special performances that evening by the Dickens Carolers, the winners of the coloring contest will be announced and there will be holiday hay rides. Community members and students will also be able to view luminaries representing host countries of the Fort Hays students and participate in crafts with the University Activities Board.

After the event is over, hot chocolate and cookies will be served to the public in the Dreiling Lobby inside Sheridan. Santa will also make an appearance on the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. After Santa leaves, guests can watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
