BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The 18th-ranked Fort Hays State men’s soccer team dropped to 2-2-1 overall after suffering a 1-0 loss at Western Washington on Thursday (Sept. 15). The Vikings improved to 3-1-1 on the season.
The lone goal in the match came in the 24th minute from Western Washington’s Jeremiah Lee. Ibra Drame found Lee with a pass around 20 yards out and Lee sent a bending shot into the upper left corner of the net.
Fort Hays State outshot Western Washington 13-11 on the night but lacked efficiency as only one of those shots was on net. Michael Yantz took the loss between the pipes for FHSU, saving two of the three shots on goal from the Vikings.
The Tigers look to rebound as their west coast trip continues on Saturday (Sept. 17) at Seattle Pacific University. The match is set for 9 pm (central time).
