KAMS Graduation Class of 2016

The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science will have its Completion Ceremony for the Class of 2016 tomorrow, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom. This will be the sixth graduating class in the history of the KAMS program.

KAMS Director Dr. Roger Schieferecke shared that there are a lot of things that go into ensuring that students graduating from the program are well prepared for success as they continue on their academic paths. “The KAMS program is an early entry to college program and therefore our students are exposed to a higher level of academic environment than what they have been accustomed to. The program assists in developing those necessary classroom skills but also plays a major role in the development of responsibility, time management, self-discipline, independence, and much more.”

This year’s ceremony will be honoring 19 graduates, and of those graduates 6 will continue their education at FHSU. The remaining 13 students will be attending other universities throughout the state.

President Mirta Martin will serve as the main speaker of the event, and everyone is welcome to come and support the KAMS Class of 2016.
