Fort Hays State University be hosting the 2016 John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activities Day, or SACAD, as a way to showcase the research and artistic talent of students and faculty from a wide variety of disciplines. SACAD will take place on Wednesday, April 27th and will be open to all members of the Hays community.
The central activity of the John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activities Day is the poster exhibit which will be held in the Memorial Union Ballroom from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions to the presenters from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. that same day.
Along with the poster exhibit, members of the Hays community will have the opportunity to win door prizes and view artwork on display in Stouffer Lounge.
If any students or faculty are interested in participating in the poster exhibit, the deadline is set for this Friday, April 1st and the posters will be sorted into either Empirical or NonEmpirical. First, second,and third place cash prizes will be available in both categories. Undergraduate, graduate, and faculty work will be judged separately.
The awards for this event are made possible by a generous donation to the FHSU Foundation in memory of the late Dr. John Heinrichs, for whom the event is named after. The John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activities Day is put on by the Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects, the Scholarship Environment Committee, and the offices of the provost and the deans.
The John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activities Day hosted by Fort Hays is a way to celebrate the scholarly and creative achievements of both students and faculty at the university. FHSU community members from all disciplines are invited to put their work on display, and share their discoveries and creations with others.
