HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State Tennis fell to Missouri Western on Friday (Mar. 25) by a score of 8-1. The Tigers moved to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in the MIAA, while Missouri Western improved to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in the MIAA.
The Tigers took one of the three doubles matches but dropped all six singles matches. The No. 3 team of Haley Weidemann and Taylor Noel won by a score of 8-5 to claim the only point for FHSU. FHSU dropped all singles matches in straight sets except for Noel at No. 6. She won for the first set 6-4, but then dropped the second by the same score and lost in the tiebreaking set 10-6.
The Tigers return to action next weekend on the road when they play at Lincoln University and Southwest Baptist on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 1-2).
