Tigers Face Northwest Missouri State in MIAA Tournament Semifinals

Fort Hays State will face top-seeded Northwest Missouri State in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Saturday (Mar. 5) at 8:15 pm. The game features the top two regionally ranked teams from the MIAA. FHSU enters at 20-9 overall, while the Bearcats are 23-5.

Northwest Missouri State is ranked No. 13 in the nation. The Bearcats are currently on a 13-game winning streak. They defeated Lindenwood by five points in the tournament quarterfinals on Friday night. The Bearcats are currently ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Central Region Rankings.

Fort Hays State reached 20 wins in a season for the ninth time under head coach Mark Johnson with a six point win over Central Oklahoma in the quarterfinals on Friday night. The Tigers are looking to even their season record with the Bearcats after falling in the only meeting during the regular season in Maryville, Mo.

The winner of the game on Saturday will meet either No. 2 seed Nebraska-Kearney or No. 3 seed Missouri Southern in the finals on Sunday.
